Introduction:
Mathillo Sagu Khola Small Hydropower Project is located within Bigu Rural Municipality of Dolakha District of Bagmati Province. Mathillo Sagu Khola Small Hydropower Project is a run-of-river (RoR) type of hydropower project. The capacity of the project is 10 megawatts (MW).
This project has a very easy road access. It is 205.5 KM to reach project site from Kathmandu via road transportation including 133 KM black topped, remain gravel road and earthen road. Having easy road access to powerhouse and water intake is an added value for this project.

The Aviyan Group, in collaboration
with Alamphu Jalabidhyut Bikas Company Pvt. Ltd., has been actively engaging
with local communities to facilitate the smooth progress of the Mathillo Sagu
Khola Small Hydropower Project (10 MW). A series of community meetings have been
held to address the concerns of locals, share project plans, and build
consensus on key infrastructure development, including road access and camp
facilities.
Meeting
in Kyarthal Village
A pivotal meeting was conducted in Kyarthal village to discuss the construction of a road to the project's camp facilities. Local stakeholders, including community leaders, landowners, and technical experts, participated actively. The discussions revolved around road alignment, ensuring minimal disruption to local livelihoods and the environment. A consensus was reached on a tentative route, with locals expressing their support for the project, provided their concerns about fair compensation and environmental safeguards are addressed.

Engagement
at Dhungakhani
A crucial meeting at Dhungakhani
focused on strengthening collaboration and broader community engagement.
Discussions addressed local grievances, employment opportunities, and fair practices
during project implementation, fostering a spirit of cooperation and
transparent communication between the company and the community. Following the
meeting, the community gave consent to proceed with a detailed survey of the
area, expressing strong support for the project's continuation. This marks a
significant step toward building mutual trust and ensuring smooth progress in
the development process.

and Introduction Program in Ward No. 6
The most recent meeting took place
in Ward No. 6, where locals from Alamphu gathered alongside officials from
Alamphu Jalabidhyut Bikas Company Pvt. Ltd. The program served as a platform to
introduce the company's development plans and address local concerns.
During the discussion, officials
detailed the timeline and scope of the hydropower projects, emphasizing the
economic and infrastructural benefits to the region. Locals raised various
issues, including equitable access to project benefits, employment
opportunities for local youth, and support for community development
initiatives. They also highlighted specific demands, such as improved road
connectivity, water resource management, and measures to mitigate potential environmental
impacts.

Detailed
Design Phase Initiated
With the survey now completed, the Detailed Design Phase has been initiated. This critical stage encompasses designing layouts for key project components, including the powerhouse, headworks, and access infrastructure. The detailed design aims to align technical specifications with project requirements while addressing community and environmental considerations.
